I just don't get it....

I've never promised to always have the most intellectual thoughts running through my mind. A majority of the time I am just trying to figure out what the hell is going on around me. Here are some of the things I have thought in the past week.

I just dont get why when Mac gets a bone in his mouth he runs from one side of the earth to the next as if he is running away from his prey. I mean a girls been hungry before but I promise, your safe with that one.

I dont get why every man born before 1980 always bursts out in this song when I introduce myself.
a.) 10 years before my time
b.) am I supposed to sing along?
c.) this is uncomfortable. please stop.

I dont get why the placement of pizza sauce can't be universal in grocery stores. Lets just all agree to put it next to the spaghetti sauce. It's the most logical answer and your staff appreciates it- they just instantly answered 6,000 less questions a day.

I just dont get how this woman doesn't have a constant migraine. I mean bless her heart. I have seen crazy eyes before but this...

and last but certainly not least.... the truth is out. I do not get how to use commas. I mean I get their purpose. That whole pausing thing. BUT- what about people who naturally talk really fast and they never really pause (i.e. moi)? Where is our own proper punctuation?

sweet summertime

If there is one thing that I love about summer it is patios, flip flops, daiquiris and of course good ole country music. Okay- so that's more than one thing but you get the picture.

Lately I can not get enough of Jerrod Niemann's new song. This song reminds me of a warm summer day, windows rolled down, sandy feet on the dash and good company all around.

Grab a beer, find a patio and enjoy, friends.

Baby Fever

My sweet Mac Attack is about to turn a year old next month, leaving me feeling like my baby is growing up! It seems like just yesterday he was falling asleep under the coffee table while trying to walk through. I miss the puppy breath, the puppy snuggles and the tiny puppy snores. (Oh do I miss those snores- I'd trade those for the sounds that come from his bed at night any day of the week... he has got to have a deviated septum)

8 Weeks old

10 Weeks Old

I would love to get another dog within the next year. We tossed around the idea of getting another from Mac's parents. Mac is (as far as labs go) extremely calm. He gets excited when new people come over but he rarely jumps, he hasn't been a huge huge chewer- we had a couple of incidents but no shoes were ever harmed, he is wild for collectively 30 minutes throughout the day but other than that- that lug loves to sleep. And I just don't think you get that lucky twice.

I don't know if I want to deal with 2X the shedding, 2X the amount of food for a 100 pound dog or 2X the slobber (I swear this dog is like a 6 month old cutting teeth)  I really want another one and I never thought I would ever say this but I think I want Mac's new friend to be smaller. Not really small, but smaller, and one that doesn't shed as much.

So.... I went to the Animal Planet Dog Breed Selector, answered the 10 questions and with the answers I gave them, I expected to get an answer along the lines of "buy a hamster instead"

INSTEAD.... this is what I got.

The Afghan Hound. I am sorry. I really love dogs.... but what is that? And when I said I did not want to groom them.... where did I lose you?

And as my runner-up as the most possible match....

A Skye Terrier. And y'all are supposed to be the experts?!?

After that quick experiment, I think its best we hold off until we buy a farm or something of the sorts, to fit 2X the shedding, 2X the amount of food and 2X the slobber.

House Update!

The house is starting to really look like a house! It's gotten so exciting to go over and check on the progress. The plumbing and fireplace have been delivered and installed along with our roof!

View of the outside

I wish I could find a way to keep fireplaces looking so clean and new

Tub in Master

Stand up shower in master.

The roof!! (sorry for the terrible iPhone pic.-as you can tell my trusty ole iPhone 4 has seen better days)

I got Mac a very long leash so that he could play in the grass outside my apartment. I was foolish to think I could trust him for a few minutes to be outside by himself.....
15 minutes later and a hole almost to china....

I had this situation on my hands.

Happy Monday! chin up charlies- it'll be Friday before we know it.
